FRONT-END DEVELOPER / DESIGNER

Our company: Nivavi

Agriculture is on the eve of a major automation breakthrough. Nivavi is developing the core technology with which existing tractors are converted into robot tractors (retrofit). We are an ambitious, pragmatic, and informal startup currently with four employees. Within two years, we will expand our development team to five to seven people.

What are you going to do?

As a Front-end Developer, you are responsible for developing the user interface of our application. You ensure that complex technology is simple and intuitive to use. You think from the user's perspective, translate needs into a well-thought-out interface, and then implement it yourself.

You will work closely with Marijn (Head of Development), Nico (Back-end), and Martijn (Embedded Software) and will be one of the key players within the team. You will have a major influence on how our software develops and you will be given the freedom to make choices regarding the design and technical implementation of the front-end.

Your duties will include:

Designing and developing the complete front-end of our application.
Translating user needs into an intuitive and user-friendly interface.
Implementing new functionalities and monitoring code quality.
Collaborating with back-end and hardware development to create a seamless user experience.
Testing the software on the robot tractor and thinking along about improvements based on practical experience.
User research, such as collecting and analyzing feedback.
Actively contributing to product development, architectural choices, and the further growth of the development team.

Technical environment

Front-end development using languages / frameworks of your choice.
You work closely with software that communicates directly with electronics and hardware.
We are open to new technologies when they demonstrably add value.

Who are we looking for?

Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following:

Ample experience with front-end development in professional software environments.
Strong sense of UX/UI and an eye for detail.
You can design independently, substantiate choices, and realize them technically.
Analytically strong, skilled in communication, and pragmatically minded.
You enjoy helping to build both a product and a growing company.
Knowledge of Node.js and JavaScript is an advantage (our existing front-end is written in this).
Experience with a real-time API, for example MQTT or Protocol Buffers, is an advantage.
